We live in Marlow, Buckinghamshire and have enjoyed many visits to this beautiful area of Spain. We bought Casa de la Cueva in 2015 after selling our villa in Menorca which we had owned for 14 years. We viewed many villas until we came across Casa de la Cueva and fell in love with it's stunning views and close proximity to the picturesque village of Mijas Pueblo.

We always have and will continue to do our very best to ensure that guests are looked after and find our villa a welcoming home from home where visitors can switch off and enjoy precious time away.

Casa de la Cueva is a beautiful country villa which was constructed in 1966 and was in need of complete refurbishment works which were completed May 2016. Here are comments received by visitors who have stayed at Casa de la Cueva:

We've just returned from a fabulous 10 night stay at Villa Casa de la Cueva which more than lived up to our expectations. It was in a quiet and private location with excellent facilities and had the most wonderful view. There were 4 adults and 4 children in our party but there was plenty of room for everyone for a very comfortable and enjoyable stay. The villa was exceptionally clean, well maintained and had everything we could want to give us a home from home environment. The kitchen was very well equipped with high end appliances. We loved the private pool which is a big "must have" thing for us as a family and the terrace was lovely to sit out in the evening watching the sunset.

Caroline the owner was very helpful during the booking process and recommended places to eat etc. and was always on hand to answer any queries we had before and during our stay.

We would love to return to this amazing villa in the future.

A fantastic villa with stunning views - this really is a fabulous villa and is very well equipped. We stayed with another family and all really enjoyed our week and didn't want to leave. The villa is spotlessly clean and very comfortable. There is plenty of space both inside and out and we really enjoyed the pool despite the cooler autumn weather. There are lots of places to sit outside, either on the covered terrace or in several sunny sheltered places around the villa. We really enjoyed the views over the charming hillside and out over the Mediterranean - we could even see the far distant hills of North Africa on a clear day.

The location was also great - we could be in Mijas Pueblo in a few minutes by car - the town centre car park is only 1 euro for the day - we didn't use the bus but the bus stop is just at the end of the road. Mijas Pueblo is a charming town and great for a coffee, a meal or to browse the shops. We also enjoyed Fuengirola beach and old town (only 15 minutes away), Mijas Costa, El Chorro Gorge walk and Malaga for the Picasso Museum and old town. All in all we had a fantastic week - the villa is in a great location with a charming town close by although often we just wanted to at the villa, relaxing and enjoying the views! I would definitely recommend this villa.

The booking process with Caroline also went really smoothly and she was very helpful and ready to answer any questions promptly. The information provided was clear and comprehensive about how to find the villa and on the villa facilities and local attractions.

An amazing villa with stunning views

A huge thank you to Caroline for making the booking process for Casa de la Cueva so easy. From understanding where the villa was, how to get there, what to do to get in and what was available to us was so simple. There was plenty of space to park our two cars and on entering the villa we were all delighted. It looks great in pictures but it's much nicer, and bigger, in reality. We actually spent more time in the villa than we thought we would purely because it's such a nice place to be. There's also plenty of space for a little privacy... I had a really good book on the go :-).

We regularly used the bus that stops at the end of the road, popping up into Mijas Pueblo or down into Fuengirola... Casa Colon, Calle Troncón, 2, 29640 Fuengirola is one of our favourite tapas bars and the cab back was only 15 Euros. Big rooms, big bathrooms, huge communal areas, an amazing kitchen and a gorgeous pool... all with spectacular views. We were all very sad to leave, but looking forward to returning.

Thank you so much Caroline.

An absolutely stunning villa with breathtaking views! I stayed here with 4 friends and to say the pictures do not do it justice is an understatement. As a group of friends that visit villas every year for our holiday, this one is definitely up there at the top. The villa felt like a home from home the second we walked through the door. We all felt very safe and secure. The decor is finished to a very high standard and the kitchen has everything you need with all high end appliances. The size of the villa gives you ample space if you need a little alone time from the cosy snug to the stunning sun terrace to sit and relax or read a book.

Many evenings were spent on the spacious patio having a BBQ or just sitting chatting over a few drinks. The bedrooms are all very spacious and the finish on the bathrooms were perfect. The pool was ideal and extremely well kept. There was a small shady area also for those who are not too fond of sitting in the sun.

The villa is ideally located not too far from Mijas Pueblo which was a beautiful traditional Spanish town with some excellent small bars and restaurants. It is quite close but the walk up to the town is extremely steep so we got taxis while we were there. The local taxi company were excellent and a taxi from the villa to Mijas was less than €10. For those in need of a bit more nightlife, Fuengirola is about a 10 minute drive away.

From the initial enquiry to getting the deposit refunded, Caroline was extremely professional and friendly to deal with. Overall, could not recommend this villa highly enough and will definitely be back for a return visit.

We really enjoyed our stay at Casa de la Cueva. It is an amazing and spacious villa, kitted out to a very high standard with everything you would hope for and expect. The pool is lovely and the terrace provides an ample source of shade for sitting and eating. The villa is well served by a bus at the end of the road into Mijas Pueblo -a lovely little Spanish town. All in all, we would highly recommend this as a holiday destination.

Myself and my family spent two weeks here in early August and I can't praise it enough. The house was immaculate and extremely well equipped. The pictures on the website don't do it justice. The Aircon in the bedrooms was a godsend. The views are amazing.

Whilst we were there most of southern Spain was experiencing an unprecedented heatwave, but not Casa De La Cueva, we seemed to have our own micro climate with a cool breeze keeping the temps around the 30 degree mark all the time. We would sit out until late in the evening and not one of us got bit by a mosquito. The WiFi works well, and the smart tv's keep my 5 year old happy when he wasn't jumping in the pool.

Mijas itself is a beautiful town and we ate some amazing food , Alboka, Casa 5 and the secret garden amongst our favourites. Most mornings I would walk into the town but although less than a kilometre away it is quite steep and my mother and mother in law could only manage it once. At the top of the village is the Sierra Mijas, and I climbed that range quite a few times whilst I was there. The pictures I got from the top of those mountains are breathtaking. So to summarise, a beautiful villa in a beautiful town and a beautiful holiday, can't wait to go back.

We had a great family holiday at this villa. From initial contact with Caroline, the owner to deposit refund the whole process was smooth. The villa is exactly as described and the views even more stunning than conveyed by the photos. The location of this villa offers you easy proximity to both Mijas pueblo and the nightlife of Fuengierola so you get to satisfy everyone's tastes in a holiday. Having a car means you can explore further afield but honestly public transport is also very good and if you just want to relax totally it's possible in this location without a car.

Internally the villa offers you all the creature comforts you would expect. The air conditioning throughout ensures good sleep ready to tackle the fun day ahead. Wifi means you can check out all that's happening locally and time visits to coincide with flamenco, etc. The outdoor space from the huge covered terrace looking over the countryside to the sea to the pool is excellent. All that said, I recommend this villa and hope you enjoy it as much as my family did.

Casa de la Cueva is a beautiful villa in an excellent location close to Mijas pueblo, a village which we have visited many times before and which never fails to charm us. We visited with our family (6 adults and 1 baby) and we all loved the accommodation. The beds were comfortable and there were plenty of different spaces to relax in, both inside and outside. There was even a ‘snug’ which provided a great play area for the baby. The pool was very clean with stunning views down to the sea.

The villa is very well equipped, and we enjoyed cooking our evening meals either in the spacious kitchen or on the large gas barbecue , then eating it out on the peaceful covered terrace.

The booking process was very straightforward and the owner is extremely helpful. We shall definitely be returning to this villa in future years.

"Perfect, peaceful, hassle free holiday."

Our initial enquiry was dealt with very efficiently with prompt answers to questions about the villa. It was an exquisite find and we had a fabulous stay discovering walks and paths up to the town where we could easily walk for drinks and supper. The property was exactly how it was described with everything we needed for a lovely holiday. All the small detail was covered - use of equipment, TV guide etc. and easy to spot on arrival.

Our deposit was returned immediately and overall it was a wonderful stay in a villa whose owners clearly cared about their guests. We are planning to return and I would recommend this little gem to anyone considering booking a holiday.

What a fantastic family holiday we've had in this beautiful spacious villa, stunningly refurbished with everything you could need, superb views and lovely pool. It's location was brilliant for us - tucked away from it all yet close enough by car or bus to the glorious tradional spanish town of Mijas and an abundance of lovely beaches. Have already booked our return visit next year and can't wait!

This was our second visit to Mijas and our first to Casa de la Cueva, a villa I cannot recommend highly enough and one we will definitely be visiting again.

The location is brilliant with fantastic gardens, the villa itself is the perfect combination of traditional Spanish with all the mod cons you could ever need and it is has obviously been decorated/refurbished to the highest standards, including the pool which was the perfect size for us.

I would not hesitate in giving the villa, it’s owners and their local agent 5 stars, totally recommended.

We had a fabulous week - thanks very much. It was certainly a lovely time to visit; the countryside was very green and superb waking up to birdsong in the morning - and have the perfect weather.

The beds were very comfortable and the villa quiet so we both managed to catch up on some much required sleep, it was very relaxing sitting by your lovely pool and enjoying a quiet swim.

The villa was perfect for us, even though it was just us two in the end. We loved the terraces and pool and being able to move from one to the other, taking little breaks in and out of the sun in the various locations on the differing levels! Although we ate very simply - mainly fruit and salads, the kitchen was great and so refreshing to see high spec - and ultra clean appliances. There is nothing we can think of that would have improved our stay and particularly liked the fact there were comfortable chairs for relaxing in the shade and being high up on the hill side, a cooling breeze was welcome. I think you have designed it perfectly for all types of weather with the dining areas.

Your villa has a very comfortable and homely feel and we felt at home as soon as we walked through the door. The location is great and we enjoyed our daily walks up the hill,, particularly after finding the little cut through via the steps up to the track to the top of Mijas village.

We absolutely loved this property. We were two couples and two single people which was easily catered for via Caroline, who was really friendly and helpful in the organisation of our stay.

The photos actually do not do justice to how lovely the entire house and garden are. The patio area is perfect for bbqs and eating in a large group with a great view towards Fuengirolo and the sea. The pool was a good size and great for socialising around.

The location was perfect, just a few mins taxi ride to Mijas (a local hilltop village) and Fuengirolo for transport links. Everything was finished to a very high standard and we definitely plan to return here again soon.

We loved the villa. It was a pleasure and privilege to be the first guests.  Everything was as expected and so beautifully fitted and furnished, you must be very proud of it all.

The location is stunning - just as we like it - great panoramic views, peaceful and private, we had plans to go on a couple of half day bird watching trips, but changed our minds due in part to the heat and actually stayed at the villa every day, determined to have a very much needed complete rest. To sum up it was really lovely and we had the complete rest we needed.

Newly refurbished and decorated to a very high standard, this beautiful and spacious villa has incredible views down to Fuengirola and up to Mijas.

The villa has a bus stop just outside with regular buses to and from the two towns so a car is not essential. The walk to Mijas is up quite a steep hill and the first section is on a road, but we typically got a bus into Mijas in the evening and then walked back

With 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms this is perfect for groups and families.
