Mijas is a beautiful traditional village which nestles comfortably in the mountainside at 428 metres above sea level and is located within an easy drive from Malaga airport which is very accessible all year round with numerous daily international flights.

The village is a mix of narrow cobbled streets with several village squares and offers an array of local shops selling a huge variety of items from local pottery, paintings to local produce such as cheeses, hams and delicious handmade ice cream.

There is a plethora of bars and restaurants to choose from within the village from local tapas bars where you can pass the time of day with the locals to a huge variety of cuisine from outdoor BBQ restaurants to others offering freshly caught seafood, superb steaks and simple menu del dia (menu of the day).

Mijas Pueblo has managed to retain much of its traditional Andalucían way of life with about 70% of it's residents being Spanish and benefits from an excellent all year round climate and is the perfect location to visit other popular spots such as Granada with the stunning Alhambra, the beautiful town of Ronda steeped in history, Gibraltar and even ski in the winter in Sierra Nevada.
