Within a couple of minutes walk from Casa de la Cueva (at the top of the lane) there are buses stops either side of the main road and run approx every 15 minutes. One way goes to Mijas itself (under 5 minutes) and then on to Fuengirola (about 15 minutes with stops) while the other route runs buses down to Torremolinos. It is possible to walk into Mijas Pueblo (village) but it is steeply uphill and takes around 20 minutes so on a hot day if you don't want to use a car the bus might be the preferable option!
